CMS update and implementation of search engine for comScore
Overview
comScore turned to silver.solutions to realize an update of its CMS in order to support complex feature requests and offer the flexibility to change with comScore’s shifting needs. It also relied on silver.solutions to implement and customize an advanced on-search function.
The solution in detail
silver.solutions first updated the CMS to the latest version. This posed a significant challenge due to comScore’s large data volumes as well as the wide variety of custom classes used.
The search extension was implemented to support comScore’s advanced on-site search requirements. It was set up in a way that allows the comScore Digital Marketing Team to easily add or remove CMS classes from the search results, update the search filter options or change translations where needed. For the users of comScore.com the improved search function offers search term auto-completion, the ability to fine tune results by applying a number of filters (‘faceting’) and the option change the sorting of results from ‘relevance’ to ‘publication date’.
A special feature of the faceting used here involves working with groups that summarize various CMS classes in order to provide a clear set of filter options to the user.
The result
After the update, the comScore CMS is ready to support any future requirement and the new search functionality gives users even better and faster access to the content on comScore.com.
