Fruchthof Nagel benefits from ERP real-time data in the B2B shop
New B2B online shop with real-time data from Navision
Fruchthof Nagel wants to modernize its B2B shop and offer its customers new, convenient features for ordering fruit and vegetables by upgrading the shop software. Once again, Ibexa Commerce was chosen, in combination with the B2B-Connector middleware for a real-time connection to Microsoft Dynamics NAV. With the e-commerce platform, the wholesaler will also offer a subscription box for companies in addition to its B2B online shop in the future and wants relaunch its website in a third project with silver.solutions.
Homepage presents weekly offers and promotions
After upgrading to the current Ibexa platform, Fruchthof Nagel greets its customers on the start page of the online shop with new slider elements. This allows the wholesaler to showcase its changing offers in an attractive way.
While some promotional offers are automatically loaded from the ERP system, Fruchthof Nagel employees can manually maintain the weekly offers in the backend. Management is very intuitive with the landing page tool PageBuilder. The manual weekly offers can also be created in advance and then go online automatically in the right week. A special release process ensures that all manual entries are correct.
Online shop retrieves product structure from ERP Navision
The products and categories of the B2B shop are maintained in Navision and are clearly mapped in the online shop. When the customer clicks on the menu item for products or on one of the categories, the shop displays the bestsellers in this section, which are automatically determined in the ERP and transferred to the shop.
Another way for the customer to find the product they are looking for are the search and filter functions. A suggestion function lists suitable products as soon as they are entered in the search field. Using the facets, customers can also narrow down a search result according to specific properties such as varieties or organic produce. The filter option via facets is also available to customers in the categories.
Fruchthof Nagel customers can also find out about new products in the assortment. Products with the 'new' flag come directly from the ERP system and are marked in all views. All these products are clearly listed in a seperate menu. Likewise, the items on offer from the ERP system can be viewed entirely once again under a 'promotions' menu.
Special features for fruit and vegetable wholesale
Fruchthof Nagel's customers are supermarkets and smaller retailers as well as companies in the hotel and restaurant sector, but also hospitals, caterers for large canteens and large discounters. The packaging units in Fruchthof Nagel's B2B shop are therefore a special feature. The online shop displays the prices per kilogram. Corporate customers then usually order the food in packages, i.e. usually in crates. However, it is also possible to order smaller quantities, for example in trays or nets, at the indicated prices per kilogram. Here, individual opening surcharges are due, which the shop displays to the customer as soon as they select such a packaging size.
Another distinctive feature concerns the availability of the fresh Fruchthof assortment. After signing in to the shop, the customer must first select the desired delivery date. Only then can the shop display what is available on that date and what the products cost. This is because the prices also depend on the delivery date. In addition, some products require more time in advance and can only be ordered up to a certain date for the selected delivery date. The B2B online shop maps all this.
Favourites and reorder lists simplify regular purchases
Because Fruchthof Nagel's customers generally reorder the same products over and over again, one focus of the shop relaunch is on new functions that simplify and accelerate regular orders for customers.
These include favourites, which work like a watch list, but can also be used as a complete shopping cart template. Customers can manage several lists of favourites and name them individually, for example to prepare regular deliveries on certain days of the week. The customer can add all items in the template to the shopping cart with a single click. It is also possible to add individual products to the shopping cart. By the way, prices and availability of the favourites are always displayed to the customer up-to-date with data from the ERP system Navision and displayed via the REST-API with Vue.js and Ajax Calls.
Ordering is just as fast with the help of the order list, which provides an overview of the last orders placed. The B2B shop again retrieves the data for this directly from the Navision system. The customer sees the last five orders and can put items from these orders again into the shopping cart with just one click.
Quick orders are also facilitated by the straightforward checkout process of Ibexa Commerce, which requires no further clicks or reloads. All information on goods, delivery address and prices is clearly summarised on one page and the customer can send their order with just one click.
Self-service in the customer area
Fruchthof Nagel customers can view and download their invoices, orders and delivery notes at any time under the documents area. Credit notes are also displayed here. The entire customer history from the ERP system Microsoft Dynamics NAV can thus be viewed via the online shop and filtered by date and category.
Customer loyalty through clever quick order features
Fruchthof Nagel has introduced many new functions for B2B customers with the redesign of its online shop. Especially recurring orders are now even easier to process. Buyers can place a new order particularly quickly using the templates in the favorites lists or the last items from the order lists. By offering its customers convenient functions and well thought-out processes, Fruchthof Nagel is able to increase customer loyalty and thus accelerate its further growth.
