Overview
The product remit was to connect a shop set up in parallel by the agency to the client’s Microsoft Dynamics NAV system. As well as the standard connection, numerous special requirements were requested and realized.
The solution in detail
The connection of shop and Navision was enabled by the B2B-Connector. These provide the most important basic functions for a smooth data exchange between shop and ERP right out of the box.
The order data is transferred to NAV via middleware in the form of the Gearman software. This guarantees performance on the shop side irrespective of the load on the ERP system. Also, orders are cached there so that they can be easily transferred at a later point in time should the Navision system be offline. This ensures that no order is lost.
Stocks are regularly synchronised between ERP and Magento, which also means that information about stock alterations due to telephone or mail orders are taken into account in the shop. Prices are transferred from Magento to the ERP system with the orders.
A special feature in Crealogix’s business model are licence numbers that are generated for specific products in the product range. The Magento interface also passes this information to the ERP system so that it can be output on the customer invoice accordingly. The order history module was specially adapted for Crealogix. In the Magento back-end Crealogix employees have access to customer data that is enriched with information from the ERP system.
This enables the ERP status of a customer, his/her payment types and the language to be displayed directly in Magento. Employees can also change order-relevant information such as the address or the name of the customer in the customer record and these changes are instantly fed back into the ERP system. Similarly, the customer’s documents (invoices, credit notes, delivery notes, orders) are displayed.
The result
Crealogix now provides its product range in a modern, high-performance online shop which communicates almost seamlessly with the ERP system. To simplify the processes the employees have a point of contact in the form of the customer centre where they can access all the most important information for a customer at a glance in one system.
