MVG: Fair trade on the new online platform of Eine-Welt-Shop connected to Microsoft Dynamics NAV
Overview
The existing online shop had to be migrated to a system that directly communicates with the ERP system but also receives product information from a catalog software. The aim was to reduce editorial effort and integrate the existing software systems.
The solution in detail
The new shop can serve 50 to 100 shop users at the same time. The shop has three main sections („Misereor“, „Weltgebetstag“ and „WeltFairsand“), which clearly differ with the help of an appropriate design solution. In addition to standard shop functions such as product catalog and shopping basket the shop also offers a quick order form, a Top 10 list and selected interesting products in the header section of the website. Since the shop is integrated with the content management system by Ibexa, editors can edit texts (e.g. help or contact pages) easily in the administration panel of the system. That is where the so-called text modules are set up which are used for example in the basket or in order confirmation emails.
The new shop is connected to Microsoft Dynamics NAV via the B2B-Connector. That makes it possible to request and display availability and price information from the ERP system in real-time. It is possible to shop anonymously as well as a registered user. The three product categories „Misereor“, „Weltgebetstag“ and „WeltFairsand“ are the top level sections of the catalog. Information (texts) on product groups and articles are imported from a catalog software. All further information (prices, availability) comes directly from the ERP system.
