Founded in 1991 ORTHEG is a purchasing cooperative for health care supply stores and orthopaedic workshops. Today more than 300 specialist dealers are registered as cooperative members and profit from the advantages the cooperative can offer. silver.solutions is going to set up a multi-shop solution that will allow the quick installation of individual online shops for all cooperative members.
The last weeks of every year are usually filled to the brim with forecasts, predictions and trends for all possible topics. In e-commerce analysts and experts are seeing high quality content, individual customer experiences and extended business interfaces as important trends for 2017. We wanted to gain a little insight into the practical side of things and asked our customers and partners for their e-commerce high priority e-commerce topics for the upcoming year.
silver.solutions GmbH successfully implemented the new online shop with connection for Cornelsen Schulverlage Schweiz AG. The project task was to set up an online shop for the Cornelsen Schulverlage Schweiz AG linked to Microsoft Dynamics NAV. While the primary target group for the shop are teachers, end customers and trainee teachers are also able to order resources online. The design should be oriented to the overall look of the online presence of the German parent company. The focus of shop development was the implementation of a powerful search function that perfectly reflects the teacher’s field of work.
One of the cornerstones for successful digitization processes are top quality product data. silver.solutions has been observing for years now, that missing or low quality product information are a notorious bottleneck in the digitalization of business processes. To use product data in e-commerce a product information management system (PIM) is needed that also integrates the ERP system.
Using the PIM solution akeneo (available as Open Source or licence product) silver.solutions has implemented an exemplary solution of how data between ERP, PIM and online shop can be exchanged automatically. This way product data can be maintained and optimized in a dedicated system but can easily be used for all kinds of channels and applications.
Interfaces, high quality content, advancing digitalisation, those are some of the trends e-commerce analysts have on their radar for the upcoming year. But it does not stop there. Automated shopping, contextual commerce, headless commerce or the Internet of things are next in line. But are these actually relevant for today's shop owners? That's what we would like to find out. The latest shop version ships with interesting new features and various improvements. The main focus of this update is on features that personalize the shopping experience and offer additional value to the customer. It comes with "eZ Personalization", a plug-in that – once implemented and adjusted to the individual shop – automatically delivers product and content recommendations. The plug-in uses a combination of fixed rules and collected user data to the shop owner's advantage: basket values and revenues increase while at the same time the user feels understood and appreciated.
